In the fall of 2022, the city of Las Vegas initiated an Arts District study with a goal of exploring and understanding the city’s role in the evolution of the Arts District. The question they sought to uncover was whether the Arts District stakeholders desired the city take a stronger role through projects, programs, incentives, requirements and policies to solidify the creative sector’s presence and role in the future of the Arts District. The community overwhelmingly responded supportively, and a number of recommendations were presented to City Council in September 2023. Since then, the city has been supporting the implementation of the plan.

One of the recommendations that emerged - following discussions with many property owners and businesses in the Arts District - was the desire to explore a Business Improvement District (BID).

In the fall of 2023, a steering committee comprised of stakeholders from the Arts District came together to begin discussing what a BID could look like and those discussions continue today. A series of upcoming discussions will provide opportunity for everyone to weigh in.
